One man's junk....

.....is another girl's treasure.

Okay, so I KNOW it needs some work, but the shape and uniqueness of this piece of furniture is amazing. It's going in the studio:) And will be used for shoots.

The best thing about this killer piece of furniture is that it was free. This guy had it by his garbage dumpster getting ready to haul it off. I called and asked him if I could have it. And he said "Yes, take it."

My husband wasn't too thrilled about me adding ANOTHER piece of weird furniture to our garage (I have 4 chairs, 2 couches, 1 antique ladder and 3 ottomans). We can't even park our car in there because it is full of my junk.

SOOO now I'm going to be sanding and repainting the wood part of the furniture. And then I need to figure out a way to clean the hot pink velvet. Any suggestions?? I don't want to reupholster it because I am SO in love with the hot pink!!

Tara and Jeremy.

Tara and Jeremy decided that they wanted to bring their "babies" to their engagement shoot. And let me say, that they have two ADORABLE "babies":) I'm such a fan of French Bulldogs. No dog is more adorable than a frenchie. And what is the deal with pugs?? Why do they turn their heads and look at you all weird-like when you talk to them. It seriously makes me laugh so hard. They look so confused...like they are trying to figure out what you are saying.

I had fun howling like a dog, whistling, clicking my tongue, and dancing around like a fool trying to get the doggies to look at me.

It almost reminded me of a family shoot with little kids. Not that children should be compared to dogs....but me dancing around like a fool and making a complete idiot of myself...well that is a regular occurrence on family shoots.

Chubbalicious.

I love this little chubbalicious kid. He is SUCH a sweetie. Good natured in every way, and happy ALL the time.

After all the happiness we needed one grumpy shot....

MG Edge Maternity.

Okay, so it's finally here. Funky and fashionable maternity clothing in Utah Valley! Maternity clothing HAS taken a step up since back in the day, but we are still lacking some seriously cool places to shop for maternity clothes here in Utah. Well...not anymore now that MG Edge will be officially launching their killer new line of maternity clothing.

Side story....

When I was pregnant with my daughter in 2005, my sister gave me a big bag of maternity clothes that she had saved for me (leftovers from her pregnancies). She was pregnant in the mid 90's.

Oh my gosh! I mean what can I say other than PURE HIDEOUSNESS! We've come A LONG way since gigantic tent shirts paired with our husband's jeans. Huge sweatshirts designed to COVER our beautiful bellies, and massive tent dresses that made even the tiniest pregnant lady look huge. My favorite outfit in the "bag-o-hand me downs" was the navy blue velvet STIRUP pants with a dainty little matching velvet shirt. AND MATCHING NAVY BLUE VELVET LOAFERS.

Oh my gosh, HILARIOUS. I love you sis. You are not to be blamed for the SAD maternity clothes that were available when you were pregnant.

End of side story.

MG Edge's website will be launching soon and they asked me to photograph all of their clothing for their online shopping feature.

Oh I'm SO in love with the clothes they have. The clothes have a little bit of a rocker edge, but they also offer a more classic line of clothing that seems to be inspired by the late Jackie Onassis.

Pregnancy is hot. Seriously. Pregnant ladies need hot clothes to show of how gorgeous they look when sporting their bellies.

P.S. For the record, my younger sister (in the first two pictures) is NOT pregnant. She was one of the hired models for the shoot and sported a fake belly.

I just wanted to dispel any rumors.

Phase One of "Studio Revamp" - COMPLETE!

Okay, so it's been done for awhile now, and I'm absolutely loving it. I'm just barely getting around to posting pictures of the new consultation area of my "studio revamp" project and I'm so excited about it. It's so nice to have a place of my "own" to meet with clients.

Goodbye Barnes and Noble client meetings. Hello new studio...convenience, style, my own!

The overall view (yeah, I need a wider angle lens to fit it all in....)

Wall of beautiful brides...

Custom made pillows by me (I am now taking private commissions to make pillows for others. HA!! That is the biggest joke ever!)

Wall of fabulously cute kids....

Wall of vintage camera's that used to belong to my Grams....

Wall of massive gallery wraps.....

Lots of new demo albums to look at....

Including the new parent albums....

And the new PHOTO cover wedding albums....

And an engagement/guest sign in book (these are SO popular this year. Almost ALL of my clients are getting one of these)...

And in case you were wondering, this is what my office/studio looked like BEFORE the revamp project. This is why I opted to meet people at Barnes and Noble. For some reason having people sit on the the floor amongst my office clutter didn't seem very professional to me....

AND Phase 2 of the Studio Revamp is well underway! This is the new SHOOTING area of the studio. Yes, I'm going to be offering studio sessions as a major part of my business starting this fall.

So far we have the electrical, framing, and insulation completed on the studio. Dry-wallers will be working this week. Then it's finish work and painting. THEN it's the killer new wood floors that are going in. And then it's decorating and getting it all finished up.

And then it will be open for business. I know it's not much to look at now...but OH, it will be.
